Dealership Valuation

Yes everything has fallen quite a bit, and as one poster quite rightly said you can throw out the glass' guide at the moment some cars are so far behind book like the Audi Q7 they are running about £10k behind glass' at present!

Looks like I made the right choice of getting a new ST over the vRS back in sept 07... as when I traded it in Nov 08 with 12k on the clock against a new car I got PX price that was a fair bit higher than your getting offered.

Thats incredible:eek:

As a prospective buyer Im looking at the likes of Glass' guide etc but some sellers seem to think their car is worth far more.

Buying with cash does not enhance your position, dealers sell finance for profit.

True , however someone with cash in hand is going to be able to buy the car.

They don't want to agree a deal and then find that you can't get credit

Many will offer you a chunk of their money if you take the finance and pay off early, but you have to look out for early repayment charges.

Have used car prices in general fallen that far ?

Yup. Blame high oil, the slump, and the new VED bands.

ST has dropped just the same, if not more

But if the dealer fold, you could loose all your money, and get nothing to show for it.

Dealers wont, as finance firms can and will claw back their commission for selling you the finance if you repay early or early voluntary terminate.

Really.. odd how I got several thousand £ more for it than the Octy vRS is going for.
