N75j valve again........

Featured Replies

I thought Id give the J a go on my car and at first it seemed good. If you have seen some of my other posts, I am experiencing a wierd thing were the boost comes n goes when holding the accel at a certain point.

I have just put the std one back on and it seems to have cured it but cant really tell till I go on a nice long drive. the only thing now is it is very quick to dump when releising the peddal lol

has any one else found this?

I am gonna get up to vSport some time in the next month or so to get the custom job and RR and ill take both of the valves to see which is the best.

does anyone have any Ideas as to what it could be?

cheers billy

It seems as though i have the same issue.

The n75j valve has been on a few months now but have the following problem

Over the last few days whilst travelling on motorways say at a steady 77mph :D the turbo boost has been fluctuating a lot.

Monitored on boost gauge and it seems to be going on/off boost erratically at only 5 -10psi.

Its only happening when Im driving at a constant speed

Like yourself I will fit the standard one at the weakend to see if it solves this issue

Any other suggestions?

If it's dumping too early you can put a stiffer spring in the Forge DV, or use spacers. Try a couple of spacers on the standard green spring or if that's still dumping too early the yellow spring is ok for 15psi boost and above - depends on your remap I suppose.

Well it has sorted it out.......

just done a 150 mile trip now and she is nice and smooth again, not perfect but i put that down to the map.

now it is just stages again. ie

accell mid - high and the boost comes in at one stage then after a bit as the revs lift it kicks again to another level then again. it has about 4 levels before the redline.

must be my car is one that doesnt like the J valve, anyone want it? lol

kiddin i am gonna take it with me to vsport to see if there map works with it and see which is the best.

cheers guys

I have never understood why people change to the 'J' version of the N75..... If it was reliable then yes, but it's not....

They work on some modded cars and not on others, I changed to the "J" valve when I had my modded Octy vRS and it held boost for far longer than the OEM one.

Bit of an enigma why they differ on certain cars?

Well I absolutley love my H valve :D I have found car feels like it has more torque and definitley holds boost longer over the F valve and no limp mode even in these extreme cold temps

Ye il be interested

will the j valve probally cure my overboosting and give me a smoother power delivery

will the j valve probally cure my overboosting and give me a smoother power delivery

It probably wont if its overboosting... it will probably make it worse... the boost-spike it creates is what makes the cars feel faster when using a J-valve

My car likes the J valve with the mods I have far better than standard one. Never tried the H valve. I recently replaced the forge DV spring to a yellow one, and that made a difference in holding boost better also. Running around 17.5 PSI.

The J valve can be purchased in a number of places including Ebay. ECS tuning in the states is where I bought mine.

I always thought the ECS race n75 was actually a N75H valve (possibly modified a little?). The J valve fits the opposite way to the F and H iirc.

Martin, you could be right there. who knows for definate???

I've just pust a N75J on mine and its made more of a difference than I thought. Boost is peaking just over 0.7 bar and holding 0.65 all the way up to 6500rpm. Car is still running a standard map.

I bought my valve from VW Speed

Is an N75h valve more suited for a car with lesser mods(or standard) than the guys above then?

And an N75j is better for a car with mods
