powerflex rear beam bushes :-(. bad first impression

Featured Replies

Hi guys and gals,

I have recently changed the whole suspension setup on my 20vt octy. Namely i've first put koni str't kit shocks and springs and then two weeks after powerflex bushes all around.

I am impressed with handling improvement but i am experiencing one very annoying problem

The rear end on the car feels totaly rigid. Just like having no suspension at all after fitting powerflex rear beam bushes

I am now thinking of going again into all that huge job and put new VAG oem or Leon Cupre R oem rear beam bushes instead of powerflex ones:confused:

Will those rear bushes get a bit softer after 1k miles or so?

I would highly appreciate your opinions on this matter.

Cheers

if its anything like the dogbone it will settle with a few miles,

Thank you very muchg for that Sarah:thumbup:

I was already thinking of buying a pair of cupra bushes and changing them asap.

Don't change them mate, mine were in a week or so before they became 'acceptable'. They will always be alot firmer than the OEM items, but you will soon forget they've been changed:)

!!!stiffer suspension gives harsher ride shocker!!!! ;)

sorry, couldn't resist :D

don't forget that chances are you've gone from soft/worn oem bushes to brand new stiff poly bushes so there is going to be a big difference that will take some getting used to, sometimes these things take a little getting used to so give it a little time :)

:iagree: when I first installed the superpro solid dogbone bush I thought Jesus!!! What have I done??? but now they have bedded in I don't regret it for one moment
