Polish Tips - Black Fabia VRS Bumper

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I like the look of my black fabia vrs when polished, but not the dried white polish in the VRS bumper vents :thumbdwn: Does anyone have any tips for getting it out of there easily and safely?

I don't tend to go near them in the first place with polish.

Because the polish isn't on another surface, like plastic, it shouldn't need anything much on it. So I'd go with a speed detailer or similar, something like Last Touch, and the corner edge of a microfibre to run the polish out of the vents.

What polish are you using and for what purpose?

If you have excess polish anywhere then the big bits can be moved with a pressure washer but if it's ground in then I would suggest you tape up these areas before polishing or move away from the polish your using?

Assume your using it for paint correction?

I've outlined the area in the attachment Simon. There's a ridge along the outside edge and you tend to see it quite often in photos from people on here and a white outline to the vent results!

I tend to put some 3M tape around the outside....

hi,

Ive done this a few times when polishing my car. the easiest way i have found to get rid of it is to use baby oil. just rub it on with a cloth n it will go away. i only use it on the plastics and it works a treat :-)

Try an eraser or smooth peanut butter. Honest!

Apply all purpose cleaner (maybe foam cleaner) with tooth brush, it worked on mine textured plastics....

Jet washing seems to do it for me, but yes best to try and avoid/tape up where possible.

Halfords sell a Meguiars Detailing Brush, it looks like a toothbrush but has various brushes on it. It's ideal for removing the residue in these gaps.

Fingernails work for me...
