Octavia First Service

Featured Replies

Hello all,

When is this usually due on a variable service interval? My mate was telling me last night that the first one is after just a few (5 or 6?) thousand miles, because of the running-in period?

Regards,

Richard.

It depends on the driving conditions (longer distance if only gentle highway driving, shorter if you do lots of short trips and generally flog it). So there is no single answer.

Some people like to do more frequent oil changes, especially an intial change at either 1,000 or 5,000 miles with a brand new engine.

So there's no actual Skoda requirement to do the first one after a shorter interval then? Ok, thanks.

First service will fall between 16 - 18K under normal circumstances.

Min miles 9300

Max miles 18600

I'm right in thinking though that there's still a 12 month limit with the variable servicing, isn't there?

Yes, there is 12 months min limit and 24 months max limit.

Put it this way, If you want to keep the car for ever, change the oil every 1K.

If you are going to get rid of it after the warranty has run out, get it serviced when it

needs it. Quite simple :)
