How many miles do you have to put on any of the PD units before they stop using oil???

My old superb never used any but my Octy drinks a liter evey 10K

Thats normal as said even my MK1 used about that much from new but i must admit that my MK2 is much better on oil consumption.

My transporter (2.5 TDI PD) has never used any oil. Admittedley all its driving is highway/freeway, and it was run in "with vigour".

Years ago I heard the opinion that when oil level was high and the car seemed to use more oil like that, it was actually that the oil was being blown out of the car, not burnt.

Something to do with getting past the bearings etc.

At a medium level of filling, the oil tended to stay inside the engine better!

Is everyone thats having excessive usage using Edge, or are you using another brand?
