Dealer refurb for alloy wheel?

Featured Replies

Got a 2nd hand Octy 1.9 TDI from the dealers (Mitchell Skoda)2 months ago. Didn't notice until I got it home that front passenger side alloy was damaged ? kerbed.

Have been back to the dealer a couple of times since for some minor niggles but didn't mention the alloy as thought it wouldn't be covered under warranty but d'you think it's worth seeing if they'll do it under warranty?

Local quote of £45 for repair from Chipsaway.

Many thanks for your suggestions/thoughts.

After 2 months I think they'll say no as you have no proof it was damaged upon delivery however there is no harm in asking!

Two months on; there are too many possibilities that you have damaged the wheel for the dealer to accept liability for it.

Also as you bought the second hand car, you cannot expect it to be 'perfect' and the responsibility will have been with you to have inspected it when or before taking delivery.

You might ask the dealer about it, but IMHO you are being too cheeky in doing so.

I think i'd look at getting it reconditioned properly.

tyresave in connahs quay refurbed the whole wheel for £30 when mine got scratched
