where are you getting the towbar fitted and how much are they charging you ? is it the skoda dealer supplied towbar. i cant find any towbars out there yet - they tell me they will nto be available until the end of the year.

Yes, it is being fitted by the dealer. Not sure how much, he is going to do a deal with us when it is fitted next week.

thats brave !! james told me it would probably come to about 800 so i would be better waiting for an independent towbar. thats what i am doing as i dont need to tow until next caravan season and my other car has a towbar if i get stuck !

have you any idea what you got for your money with the "towbar prep". i still cant get a definitive answer from anyone on what this actually is !! is there anything visible or any documentation that might tell you what you got ?

the reason for the delay is down tot he engine and gearbox choice we have made. there is a delay due to higher than anticipated demand for this combination (lots of people obviously have good tast like you and me ). I actually have this in writing via email from skoda UK. there are some 1.8DSG's out there - one delivered in Estonia very early after launch. But i reckon there are none in the UK yet. I could only find a petrol manual in preston but that was not available until after i ordered so i havent actualyl driven the 1.8. i am basing my decision on other cars in the VAG group with this engine.

Just out of interest what van have you got, i have an ACE Brigtstar. As for the towbar prep the wiring is put in while the car is being built. I can't see anything at the back, hopfully all i will see is the socket when it's done.

Similar spec to one we bought. Looks the absolute nuts, it really does. The colour scheme is really really nice.

One minor difference is we got ours with ivory carpets (for summer), and ordered a 2nd set of black for the winter. Means a nice clean interior for summer, without ruining it during the winter.

Surely you just mean carpet mats rather than the carpet! :eek: Swapping the carpet would be a seats/trim out job. Not for the faint hearted.
