My Other Car

Are you per-chance 'The' Mr Grumpy, of Grumpy parts kits fame? If so there are a few of your kits on the Moggy :D

As it happens.......no

Actually Mr Grumpy, the Moggy man struts his stuff in Todmorden, not a million miles away from me ( or he did a couple of years ago, I've never met him, but he's supposed to be a top bloke )

My mum once had a sky blue Moggy ( reg. no OCP 407 ) which once even ventured as far as Bridlington............

Those were the days...

No traffic,

Holidays in caravans,

Big Wagon Wheels,

Mittens on string, so you didn't lose one,

White dog poo....

I digress, sorry.....

Lovely car , I'd love to run one at some point , they look well nice on Minilites! As far as engines go , I'd probably stick with the A series and get a tuned unit fitted , along with most of the usual brake and suspension mods.

Do you have to Ronseal the wood?

:D

Oh and CJB & jlwah; it's been done, more than once. A mate of mine used to have one (with uprated suspension), and used to humiliate Jaguars on the A82 up and down Loch Lomond back in the day. :D

I thought it would have been. That would be big fun.

I do like the old A Series 1098 engine though, it's got some torque for such an old design, parts are cheap as chips, and it's a doddle to work on, compared to the modern stuff. Mine is midly tuned, but nothing too exciting, that's where the VRS comes in. :D

The A series is a fine engine, especially given it's age.

I use Burgess Marine Wood Sealer and Top Gloss on the wood (Ash). It's a micro-porous finish that will let the wood breath, while keeping the damp out.

Needs doing every five years or so. Old finish gets scraped off rather than sanded, using a Skarstin scraper.

So carpentry and mechanical useful. :D
