Does anyone own/driven a 1.9Tdi Superb II?

Featured Replies

I may be the first to order a 1.9Tdi S Superb II, however, if not, I'd be interested in hearing from anyone with this engine.

Unfortunately, not everyone has such a generous budget/fleet allowance to enable the selection of a 170CR!

I currently drive a Octy II with the PD 105 engine and don't find it underpowered, but am keen to know how this engine performs in the new Superb.

My car has been ordered and delivery is anticipated mid January 2009.

It'll be fine, my 130 pulls well and returns good miles, no doubt the 170's are more refined, but will they be reliable, the PD is proven.

I have driven the 1.9, and while it is no rocket, it is well able to keep up with traffic and held a 70mph cruise no prob's - if you are used to and happy with the 1.9 in the Octy I am sure you will get along with it in the Superb also :)

Yep - I drove one on test - I thought it was pretty nippy on the lanes, and great for cruising.

Nowt wrong with the one I drove the other day.

I know 2 people with 1.9 S (one owned a 1.9 Octavia and one the 1.9 Superb) both have said it was not as powerfull and a bit slow of the mark. as they are company cars I have opted to put my hand in my pocket and get the 2.0 PD SE, I drive a Octavia and it drives fine except feels a bit rough at 2800 RPM, the 2.0 is a bit smother and you have the extra gear for cruising, well worth the extra £1000 in my opinion.

Got a 170 CR on loan from said company - damn it's quick and with DSG the law will be after my licence no doubt....
