Newsouth boost gauge not lighting up

Featured Replies

The numbers in bold go to the corresponding numbered pins on the relay.

85 12v grey/blue from dimmer switch.

86 Brown from dimmer switch and black from gauge

30 Permanent 12v supply with inline fuse

87 Red to gauge

Cut the red wire from the grey/blue and then connect the red wire to pin 87 on the relay.

The grey/blue can then be connected to pin 85 on the relay.

The brown from the dimmer switch can be connected to pin 86 on the relay and to the black from the gauge. Once this is done when you put on your lights the relay will click.

Install the permanent live to the inline fuse and from the inline fuse to pin 30 on the relay. Install fuse and test.

Once you get the relay is should become clear.

Fantastic- I owe you a beer or 3! Cheers.

One last thing, what fuse do you put in the holder?

The smallest fuse for the inline fuse is 3a. (Standard car fuse available from halfords)

Any more problems Andy let me know.

Sorted! Now lights up, and more importantly stays lit! The actual face doesn't dim though. When you use the dimmer switch the relay buzzes loudly and the illumination just goes on/off, no inbetween. The needle however, does dim with the switch. Just gonna leave it now- can't face removing the dash parts and rewiring!

Again, huge thanks to Monkey Boy!

Glad you got it working Andy.
