Brands is holding 20 min trackday introduction sessions every half an hour on sunday 21st the cost is only £25.00!!!!! see their website.

Ive done a fair few in my Westfield and can confirm that they are really fun and twenty minutes, probably about 15 laps, will be more than enough for a 'standard' road car.

I am using my standard 'except remapped' Vrs Mk1 as I am interested to see how it fairs tho im anticipating it to be a bit soft suspension wise.

Remember you wont be insured so you should weigh up the risk of damage to your car tho I have found most people to be sensible and have not seen any knocks.

just go careful.

Me and a friend have just booked ourselves in for the 1300 session, already quite excited as this will be my first track day. What time you booked in for?

I was there totally bog standard visually silver mk1 Vrs went out at 2.20pm in a group with 3 seriously quick m3 racers, a lotus Elise racer and a couple of mini Cooper s racers.....

Enjoyed it after the second lap once all the well quick boys had gone past, I held back and tried to get out last but ended up about 8th with slowies in front and fasties behind.

Was impressed at how well she handled and some of the cars I overtook, only mod I have is an IP remap, i even have standard size tyres... the kuhmos were great!

There is a person driving an 03 reg black M3 who must be pig sick he could not overtake me!!!!!

Hope they will do a few more of those.... just the right time on track really.... much more potentially causes damage, brake problems and tyres go off.

Best £25 ive spent for ages......................................................................................

FYI I was timed by my son at 64 second laps did you time?

Nope didn't have the manpower to time myself I'm afraid, I was there with my mate driving a rover coupe and the missis was on photograph duty, think I mite have seen you actually, were you parked quite close to the cafe. It would have been easy to spot my octy because it was discracefully dirty

If you go to another one of these and you're worried about wrecking the car try Richard Egger insurance, they will cover you for track days. It cost me £60 a day to insure mine for the Ring in the summer (car valued at £6000), peace of mind I suppose since your road insurance will have a fit if you wind up in an Armco...

ok thanks for that, i risked my 20 min at brands without insurance, but next time i think i will seeing as it is only £60 for peace of mind. and i suppose it doenst really matter how careful you are on track but its more about how careful everyone else is
