Pulyens let you loose with it then ;)

Anyway I find changing at around 3500 gets the best out of the car IMO, switch traction control off and above all don't expect it to handle like a Clio 172 cause it don't but it is better at high speed than a Clio 172, it feels more stable over 100mph to be honest.

As above.

ok ivan will do (how do i turn the tc off??)

yeah they said i can have it for about 45-60 mins tonight in their black demo car just gotta wait and see the deal they will do on that :)

Just above the HU theirs a ASR button. Make sure the ASR light appears on the dash to show its off.

Press the little ASR button on the panel of switchs below the hazards and a little light will illuminate on the dash to till you it's off.

Jinx John.. Great minds and all that LOL :D

In my car, as long as the gear you're changing into hits around 2100/2200 rpm when the clutch is released, then thats the best point to continue the surge forward. I guess logically this must be around 3300/3500RPM as by the time the gear is swapped, the revs do fall by about 1000+RPM.

ok will do how many miles is recomended to be on it before vistiing jabba

I'd let it get run in first - say 2000 miles - but I'm sure some others have been remapped a lot quicker than this.

well if im quick enough ;)

I have just PX`d a 172 Clio for a VRS and it seems that keeping it on the boil from 2000 rpm is best although i am not exceeding 3000rpm a t present. The low speed handeling is not as good but as previously mentioned the high speed stability is far better.

 Which bit of Devon you to? nippy Fabia drivers a rare breed down here! :D

Also, you will find that it`s far more comfotable to drive generally. My 55 mile round trip drive is far more relaxed now and the standard stereo is much better. the build qualoity on my clio was very poor also having a new clutch, gearbox, ac mixer motor etc etc....... Have you talked figures with the dealership? How much have they orffered for the Clio?, mine was a 52 with 27k.

Ivybridge way, and you? :)

Okehampton way - commute to Exeter for work, although moving down to Dawlish inside a month.

mines 02 with 39 and he has said 7500-8000 so far but not talking good figures till test is done etc

I use 2000-3500 rpm

Anything either side of that isnt worth using IMO :)

coolies will i mis the 7200 red line :s of the clio

Was a bit generally pi88ed of with ongoing problems with clio and I am quite pleased so far. Much more comfortable, nice to look at and good boot space, is only giving me 42mpg at present but not run in yet. A bit dissapointed with low speed handling. Love the seats and sound system. Keen to put my foot down soon, like I did in the demo!(anyone bought a black VRs in Plymouth area recently!!)

Depends how much you are pressing on, and what gear you are in. For the higher gears, I'd agree, but in 1st, 2nd and 3rd I sometimes take it to 4,500 rpm :D

For the best low speed handling, use a low gear. I find it so much better if I am revving at 3000 rpm+ for low speed corners, find it gives so much more control. Its just a case of getting used to the way it drives.

I didnt used to think it handled that well, but now I am used to it I find it does in fact handle very well. :)

PS. My average is around 40 MPG, so dont expect much more if you drive it like i drive mine :D
