Just got my renewal quote through from Flux- £452.70! :thumbdwn: Must I go through this every year? :confused: In the next couple of weeks, I'll have to spend a couple of hours phoning around (Liverpool Victoria, HIC, Brentacre, Chris Knott etc etc) getting quotes. Most of these will beat my renewal quote by some margin. I'll call Flux and you'll beat the cheapest one by a few pence. I'll decide to go with you again, because it saves the hassle of moving + the service of late has been superb.

I've been impressed with AF over the years and have been with you a while, but why do you do this every single year?! Can't you just give me your cheapest quote straight away? Please?!

ps- I'll need to add a stainless catback exhaust added to my policy before the end of December

I had this as well on my last renewal with Adrian Flux & I expect it when its due again, but I haven't just found it happening with Adrian Flux. Most of the insurances I have used in the past have done the same. I know its frustrating having to ring about for cheaper quotes, but I think they are hoping that you are one of the small majority that can't be bothered to ring around for a cheaper quote & pay the excessive renewal quote.

I think it's the same for most people.

My renewal was £85 more than I paid in the end to stay with my insurance company.

I called them back with a few cheaper quotes and they just matched it.

I think you will be surprised by the amount of people who just pay the renewal price

As regards the insurance renewal, we offer our customers the best price that we can at that time. However, Insurers can and do change their prices. But if you get a better price elsewhere and you are considered a 'good risk' in the eyes of the Insurer, we will get on the phone to that Insurer and try our best to get them to drop the premium and convince them that it is in their best interests to keep you on their books.

Well, just spent nearly 2 hours on the phone...

Worst quote- Liverpool Victoria- £1200!!!!

Best- Chris Knott- £381

Got back to Flux - £370 + £45 breakdown. WIN!

Just wish I didn't have to **** around on the phone for ages whilst trying to look after our 3 month old baby!

Bit disappointed with the two renewal options I had from AF this year so did a quick comparison on moneysupermarket.com to see if it was par for the market. A 5 minute seach turned up far cheaper deals with more comprehensive cover and lower excesses even before haggling! :confused: While I appreciate AF offer a price-match guarantee, I really can't be bothered to chase them if I've turned up a load of better deals myself. I will just move my custom!

In the end, Peter Best found me the deal and cover I was after
