Locked radio

Featured Replies

OK, I started digging into the radio set up and tried the security code thing with what I thought was my 4 digit code for the radio...... but it isnt and now the radio is locked. This now means a visit to the dealer so as they can "find" me the code.

Any help or suggestions, apart from dont play with the security code?

Cheers

as its the same for octavia (facelift onwards) and superb the radio code is not supplied from factory. the radio code is stored in the dash panels memory how many times have you tried putting in the code the first time you try putting in the code you have to wait 1 minute (with the set switched on) untill you get another go if you fail with the second go it gets multiplied so 2 minutes then 4 then 16 etc. etc. as a rule you can code radio back using the dash panel the way to do this is to turn on ignition first then the radio it should look at the dash panel for the code if this doesn't work try it a few times remembering to turn ign on first followed by radio if still doen't work then you have to go to dealer so dealer can request radio code from skoda using desktop.

I lost my radio (so to speak) a few days ago, while trying to identify the fuse for the front cig lighter socket. I was listening to the radio while looking at the fuse box, pulled a fuse and it all went quiet....oooops! I had pulled the fuse on the radio supply by mistake. Having lost the power feed the radio required the code when power was restored. I ended up going to a local in-car entertainment specialist (and paying) to get the code for my radio. When I received the code and punched it in all was well. Having got the security code I've stored it in my mobile phone under the name Grundig, rather than write it down. With the code to hand I guess you can 'play' with the radio setup as much as you like!

I have tried all the 4 digit numbers associated with the paperwork/stuff that came with my Superb, but the code is rejected each time. So far I am up to attempt 6!!.

As the radio doesnt want to play I shall be attending my dealer this morning for assistance.

All I wanted to do was to make sure I had the number just in case of any problems/issues that arise..ie blown fuse some where.

Perhaps me being the first to do this with a Superb for them will make them check on the radio details for others that take Superbs.

Cheers
