mk1 vrs engine fans????

Featured Replies

I dont drive my car every day as i have a works van to use, i got home today and decided i should take the old girl out for a spin as she has been iced up since the weekend and when i left home i noticed both fans were on and after a ten minute drive when i got back they were still both on and i was wondering if this was normal?

I even left the car running for a while when i got back home.

cheers:thumbup:

Both fans run when the aircon is switched on, try putting it on econ and they should stop. HTH

its that the same as having the heating on as its an all in one unit, hope that makes sense

May sound strange but check your battery...a friend of mine had a Peugeot and the fan on that stayed on for ages after driving it..then it refused to start and we had to jump it to get it going. After that, got a new battery and problem solved.

This is a guess but I think it might be the engine management getting a little confused due to the low battery level and leaving the fan on.

Also the fact that you don't drive it much makes me think battery as they slowly run down if not used much.
