I am at 4y and 4m and 53k miles. Think I will go for the cam belt change. My local garage cant do it so have to go to a stealer.

That sounds about right mate mine was 355 pounds from vw dealer at the old vat rate.for timing belt water pump and coolant

just had mine done, genuine parts all the way, inc aux belt and aux belt tensioner, water pump, genuine coolant

also had a tyre fitted (supplied by me) and the n/s/r door sealed

all in inc vat, less than £300, i love working in the trade hehe

I have recently had mine done at Awesome GTI, top service as always and a good price too.

Bought my belt,tensiors and water pump and got someone I know to do it for £70!

was probably under £200 with the parts!!

I had an Oil + Filter change, New fuel Filter, Air filter & Rear Discs & Pads Etc all done at the same time & labour was £127 which included a Gallon of 5/40 Full Syn PD oil.

This was at a Local Independant garage.

I paid £450 including VAT for a full service including the gearbox oil, cambelt kit and front suspension bushes replaced as well as a MOT from my local trusted mechanic.

Mine was just a tad over £400.00 with an MOT and a few bulbs that had blown.

Mine was about £375 inc VAT at Skoda. (cambelt + waterpump and fanbelt).

GATES belt kit with tensioner, idlers, waterpump and all necessary parts £90 Armagh !!!!

This was last year for a 02 1.9 TDI ASZ

Same difference !!! Continental make belts for VAG and Vovlo & BMW etc... etc.. so what makes it so "GENUINE" !!

Reason why i chose Gates was because all our vw's @ hme bought from new had gates printed on them !!
