Picking up my vRS on Wednesday

Featured Replies

Went down to Skoda Preston Motors yesterday for a test driver and signed on the dotted line for a Race Blue Octy vRS FSI.

Think i got a great deal. Had £6600 left to pay off on my Fabia and glasses said it was worth £4800. Preston gave me £6600 for my car to cover what i had left to pay.

So only end up paying £20 more a month well happy :D

I guess how good a deal you got depends on how much they've 'charged' you for the new one though.

Remember, list is only just over £15k now and Broadspeed et al are able to knock them out for just over £14k.

But i would have still had £6600 left to pay on my Fabia if i had of done it that way....

Hi Jim - all i will say is that you have ordered yourself a very nice motor there!

Ordered once myself about this time last year - and had to wait 12 weeks a factory order and all the options i wanted - but worth it, and still having a great time with the VRS.

What options have you spec'd on the TFSI? Enjoy.....

Cheers,

Ste.

Brokers will part ex though wont they?

If you sold the Fabia privatly you would have the money towards the new one at around 15k - without knowing what your price to change was I dont think you can really say if its a good deal tbh. Hope you like it

i beleive the deal is only as good as what the both parties agree, you might not think deal x is any good but joe bloggs will and be happy with it

Of course they do ... yeh.

You deal with a Skoda dealer anyway. It was Rainworth Skoda that did a quote for me via Broadspeed just last week. They can supply a new vrs for £14,202.

Now that is a GOOD price.

What an amazing amount of car for the money. :)

Yeh, sounds good doesn't it?

My local dealer was under the impression that they'd be able to offer better deals as 2009 goes on though as far as the vrs goes.

I want to make the switch to a Golf GTI but the Octy keeps reeling its head as a contender at that price!

I may want to keep hold of my mondeo but if I could get £3k trade for it and a cost to change of £11k, that's not to be sniffed at.

The main thing holding me back is the silly finance rates at the mo tbh. Rates of approx 8.5% apr are an insult when the Bank of England rate is as low as it currently is!!! An £11k cost to change and an apr of approx 6% on a pcp would be pretty difficult to turn down.
