If you don't mind travelling a little way, I've been very happy with the service I've received at DSB Autocare, Newcastle Street, Bulwell, Nottingham. Try searching the forum for further feedback about these people.

I've heard of a bad experience after a cambelt change.

Mysteriously started dripping oil from the sump, after years of being bone dry. Was told it needed replacing

All i know is that the sump fasteners were loose, were nipped up after and its been bone dry for the last 2 years.

LC Motors near ecclesfield (end of new droppingwell lane and turn right and follow it down past the cranes. Turn left at the end and the garage is on your immediate right.

Did work on my Astra, and never had any problems with it...they specialise in both vauxhall/VAG.

There is a paddock of units opposite Thule on barbott hall opposite Coopers Spray shop, not used them...but they trade skoda's also. So cant be that bad?

There number can usually be found in the rotherham record.

Moto Technik in Doncaster (were at Beckett Road, now off Great North Rd opposite The Range), I've had no problems with them over several years and diferent cars. Guy that runs it used to work at Hayselden.

There's also AVG at Redhouse interchange, again ex-Hayseldens staff involved. Never used them myself, but supoosed to be ok

Autotechnic near Meadowall in Sheffield specialise in BMW and VAG group. They are properly equipped and reliable but not significantly cheaper than the local Skoda dealer.

I had my Octy vRS serviced at Walker Cutting and they weren't cheap. they charged me £650 for a full service and new front discs and pads.

Yes that would be walker cutting. I've only heard good things but as i said, no personal experience of them. do you know what the one on barbot hall is called?

The car in question was a family members car, and i wasn't particulaly impressed that it all of a sudden sprung a leak :S

Although the fix was relatively easy, it didnt inspire any confidence to take my car there...for the fear of that they may try getting me bent over!

Im not up for any of that sort of stuff, i hardly trust anyone with my car...i usually do things myself. I've only me to blame if i mess it up haha!
