When I took my Mum out with her disabled cards she put them up against the windscreen and they just slipped down between the glass and the dashboard so that only about 2mm of card was showing. The rest disappeared out of view. Luckilly I managed to get them back with a pair of very pointy scissors. Be warned though !

thats what the clear piece of plastic on the right hand side of the windscreen is for, slip it under that and it will hold it

Either use the clip or sit it on the flat part of the dash.

i lost few parking tickets in that abyss while removing tickets from the clip. i have been careful ever since.

I had my windscreen replaced and the chappie retrieved about 3 parking tickets (about £20 of un-claimable expenses:mad:) and a few other bits of tat. I would have thought a nice piece of foam rubber in the gap would make more sense.

To get out of caravan park i had to use a card for the barrier, as was said it usually is in the clip provided but as we were not coming back, i put it on the dash up to the barrier.Before i could retrieve it it dissapeared, trouble is i did not know whether it had blown out of the window or as been said slipped down the gap. So later i tried getting something down there but was not able to pick anything up, does this mean its gone forever or until the windscreen needs replacing.

Says it fits the MkIII Octavia too, might be worth a shot on the MkII...
