Radio - Aux

Featured Replies

Could someone tell me what the Aux button on the radio is for? On pervious cars I've had there has been a aux jack for plugging an ipod into but I'm unable to locate the jack so wondering what use the aux feature is?!

thanks

I think it's when you have an Ipod connected instead of the multi changer?? Could be wrong.

i use if for the i pod via the jack point in the centre armrest box

Hi mars, thats my point I cant find any jack point. I checked the centre box. I was wondering if it was somewhere that I couldn't find.

The instead of the mulit changer theory maybe correct?

I might be being blind but I can't see an Aux button on my Stream radio. Is it only the newer MP3 models that have one?

If you have the MP3 version of the stream (says "STREAM MP3" on the front), you have a radio that supports aux-in, but you do not have the socket attached (the pins at the back are currently unused). This is unlikely if you have the central armrest, since that, the aux socket and the Stream MP3 normally all come together.

If you have the older Stream version (just says "STREAM" on the front), the aux button is a red herring! Although the button is there, the inner gubbins/software are not, and there are no pins on the connector. Next stop - aftermarket ipod interfaces that replace the CD changer or FM transmitters etc..

And you only get the Aux socket if you have a Jumbo Box!!

If you have a jumbo box, it's at the back near the hinge, nearest the driver.

Yes I have a jumbo box but there's no aux jack in it.

Has anyone ever got to the bottom of why there's an "Aux" setting on the menu system of the standard non-mp3 Stream yet it doesn't appear to work?
