Battery

Featured Replies

Hi,

my name is John.

Congradulations for the nice forum!

I want to ask you can I change the original battery of my O2 in the garage without going to the service

In the manual is written that if I change the battery I need to put my radio code, the electric windows won't work and it's not be good for the board computer.

Any suggestions:)

Yes you can.

You will lose the one touch function of the windows, thats easy to reprogram, just hold up on the switch when the window is already up and you will hear a click. You radio will probably store its code and will be ok.

The other thing that will happen is when you first switch the ignition on you will have the steering light and the esp light on. Dont panic. Just drive off and when you hit 15mph or so these will self clear. Also dont panic if you dont have muh PAS assistance, just turn lock to lock and it should come back fine.

I changed mine for a new bigger Varta. Just make sure you leave the boot open in case you need anything from there. I had to reconnect the old battery to retrieve the new one I left inside.

Everything else is as described, radio is fine, even retains presets, trip computers reset. Turn steering wheel lock to lock pausing 5s at each end and dead center, then drive off. In a couple hundred meters of driving straight the esp and steering will reset.

The windows are reset as described.

Why not just fold the rear seats down to retrieve whats needed from the boot?

Somehow it felt easier to reconnect battery than to crawl on hands and knees to the far end of the boot and drag the new battery along.

Thats the easy way out! hahaha!

Then again im only 21 so age probably on my side lol!

23 here. But still don't feel like crawling into the back :)
