Coming home this afternoon changed from 1st to 2nd in slow moving traffic and sounded like a loud wastgate going off.

From the lights i noticed my boost gauge reading 0 psi (not even the 5psi you get in limp home mode :thumbdwn: ). changed gear to hear the wastgate chatter again. Restarted the car and same again. No boost but you can hear the turbo spooling up then loud wastgate chatter on gear changes etc.

Any ideas of what it could be :(

A pipe might have come loose/adrift? (check small boost control pipes, aswell as main inlet pipes)

If only your car was reliable as your old PC:D

Reminds me of when I was in Jon's old car and a pipe popped off down by the intercooler. But that was under good acceleration, not in traffic...

Pipe that goes to the top of the dv was in 2 pieces. Replaced and reset ecu and thing back to normal

ahhh! That was quick! Wish all repairs to my dodgy running problems had been so easily DIYable.

Hi Monkey Boy,had the same thing happen to mine and i have to agree that the wastegate chatter sounds great,i wonder if there is a way to upgrade the wastegate to get that chattering sound without doing damage to the engine because a friend of mines Escort Cossie does it and i think it sounds much better than the tishing sound
