Roll Bar/head unit Question

Featured Replies

I was replacing the Angle sensor in my girlfriends fabia the other day when I noticed the ARB (anti roll bar) was hitting part of the car, it seems to have moved sideways and ended up contacting the aluminium block that retains the lower subframe to the chassis.

While trying to centralise the ARB I managed to break the plastic collar that is meant to stop the bar from moving side to side.

So, can I simply replace the plastic collar? it looked like it was moulded as part of the roll bar itself. If so, where can I get this? I've put a good-ol jubilee clip on to stop it moving, but I imagine this will not pass an MOT like this. If the whole roll bar has to be replaced, can this be done without dropping the whole subframe/engine/steering from the car?

The car has a mystery 'clunk' that sounds when going over bumps, sounds a bit like droplinks, but i've checked them and they're fine. Are there any common causes of this sort of noise in fabia's?

While i'm on, this christmas i'll be replacing the old tape player with a CD player in the fabia, I have a metal cage for the cd player, the plastic surround and the adapter cables (+aerial connector). Do I need anything else to fit a normal size CD player? does it need one of those white plastic things at the back which supports the rear of the stereo?

How the hell do you remove the Skoda radio?

Thanks guys.

on the headunit question you dont need anything to hold the back of the headunit. also if you remove the corner buttons above the radio, and the side trims you can get a junior hacksaw blade snapped in half down each side (2 little holes)
