Scoundrel - Obliterated wing mirror

Featured Replies

After some deightful driver decided to visit my side of the road and hit my mirror near full on I had no choice but to replace it.

Not only was it a piece of cake but I found a new OEM mirror for £40 on ebay. I was expecting to shell out a lot more so I am relatively chuffed at the mo.

A little annoying to say the least but as everyone else has said it could of been a lot worse.

They could of got up close and personal with the front wing which I am sure would not be replaced for £40 nor take 20mins to do.

Someone did this to me when I had my A4. He didn't stop, fortunately not a lot was going to get away from that car so I did a 3 pointer and nailed it after him. It was around this time of year too.

Caught up with him and after a lot of flashing and pointing he pulled over.. for me to find there was an 80 year old man at the wheel. My anger subsided and I asked him what happened and he just said "I must have lost concentration for a minute."

Scary really. My grandfather is in his late 70s and he's very switched on and very capable but it's obvious that a lot of older drivers aren't!

Cost him £800+ (insurance job) as a lot of the paint down the front and rear driver's side doors had chipped with bits of mirror and glass.

Glad yours was easier to sort, although it's never a nice thing to happen especially when the barstewards don't stop.

I learnt the hardway, I never leave the car parked without pulling both mirrors in.

I always pull my mirrors in

some one did it to my misses and tried to do a runner, however the car is her prizzed possesion and she turned around and found him cowering in a hospital car park, and made him pay up 700 euros for the mirror door respray and new window, never mess with a woman and her motor.
