Fitting Fog Lights

Featured Replies

Hi,

I want to fit fog lights to my 1997 1.9D Felicia which didn't originally have any. I was wondering if the required wiring is still available in the wiring loom, or if I will have to fit my own wires. The car didn't originally come with fog lights, but I have some after market ones that would fit in the bumper space provided. Also, if the wiring is still available, does it go down to the bumper, or have Skoda tucked it away somewhere out of sight. Not only that, but is it the same for the switch end of the wiring loom, will I be able to find the required wires in the loom, or do I need to make my own wiring up. Any help with this would be very appreciated.

Many thanks

Ian

At the back of both headlights there is already cables (with a connector plugs) coming out of the loom. You will have to make up cables from these to the fog lights, I don't think you'll be able to buy them any more. It's then just a matter of fitting a fog light switch to the blank in the dash (the wiring is already there) and fitting a relay into one of the empty sockets in the fuse box (I can't remember which one offhand but trial and error will sort it). You'll then have a working system :)

For anybody else who wants to do this, fog lights and purpose made bumper grills are easily obtained from ebay, the grills are only about 2 quid and the fogs about 18 quid each.
