ECU Resetting

Featured Replies

If a car has a Jabba Remap or a Revo Remap is it possible for them to be reset by the dealer if the car goes in for a service/warranty work. I'm assuming this could be done quite easily to the Revo remap but could it be done to the Jabba one.

And legally where would a dealer stand with doing this?

Thanks, Shaun

Any remap could be over written by a dealer if they update an ECU program serially. There shouldnt be a reason for a dealer to do this unless you have a problem. But legally you dont have a leg to stand on if they do over write it and you havent told them its been modded. But that in itself causes a catch 22 problem because if they do know its been mapped they might well refuse to work on it anyhow.

Moral is if you get a engine management problem and you car is modded, have a word with the modifier before going to your dealer.
