Today is a sad day as my Felicia has finally died!!! the underlyiny alternater/battery problem was getting worse the rear shocker came through the boot and its mot was due, so when your brother in law offers a Vectra estate on a t plate for free knowing that itll cost £75 to fix it what do you do???? The felly looks all sad over the road she was a good old girl dont want to scrap her, but wonder how long it will stay over there before swmbo says it looks like a scrap yard.

Sounds like your just as well sending it to the big breakers in the sky mate, I dont know if it drives and/or the scrappie is near but some are offering up to £140 for a driver up here at the moment.

If its only £75 to fix then it might be worth fixing imho.

But there comes a time to say goodbye. I am now saying that to my Felly 1.6 after the head gasket went pop. I have a Favorit 1.3 now

Vectra to tax = £185

Felly 1.3 = £120

And why is he giving the Vectra for free? Whats wrong with it?

If the Vectras good then I'd consider it.

My Uncle had one on a 51 plate (ex rental car with a front end repair) I thought it felt iffy but my uncle liked it.

I'd swap mine for a half decent Vectra Estate if it was only going to cost me £75

Alas, sounds like the Skoda isn't worth bothering with.

The difference in road tax is minuscule over a year.

I think he was referring to the Vectra in regard to the £75 cost. The skoda sounds like it would cost a lot more sadly. Strut through the boot does not sound good at all! :(

Depending on the colour/model of felicia there are a few bits I need if you want to break it, I'm not far away either.

Shame about the felly - although the vectra is the sensible choice in that scenario. You don't know what the other struts are like around the top either!

sounds like you're taking on another disaster! if there's nothing wrong with the vectra now... it wont take too long!

anyway why not pass the favour on and offer the felicia away for free? pass on the goodwill and I'm sure there'll be someone loal who could use a spares/donor car!!

A strut in the boot is a call for either a good welder or scrapping.

That said, a V*ctr@ is in no way a decent car!
