Hey guys, was just browsing a website looking at shock absorbers for the fabia andi found some listed for a Fabia 1999 onwards? would that cover the VRS aswel or are the shocks on a VRS substantially different to a normal fabia?

I would check the part numbers are the same. For optimum suspension tuning, stiffer springs would ideally have dampers designed to match the spring rate.

isnt that just for Eibach though, doesnt mean they would be the same shockers from all the aftermarket manufacturers

The Shocks in question were Bilstein and the price looked quite appealing so is why i asked. That is good news though too that they are the same for all i suppose, makes Shock purchasing easier.

What Sarah means is aftermarket dampers are all the same.

Genuine ones are different depending on model and engine config.

which Bilstein were you looking at ?

ive just had a look around and the B8 sprint dampers seem to be the same for a vRS as a 1.4 etc etc

I got a price of £155 for 4 Bilstein B4 shockers for a vrs from Euro car parts,gas filled standard replacements.

on the Bilstein web catalogue, when choosing a vRS it only gives you the choice of the B8 shocks, it gives you other choices on the other engine sizes, but not on the vRS
