cat back or turbo back exhaust

Featured Replies

Even if a downpipe won't make a lot of difference to the power it might help with EGT's when stage 2 tuned especially.

EGT's? do you mean the check engine light?

Exhaust gas temps.

Yes thats exactly what the guy at Pipewerx said, biggest issue with stage 2 is increased temps and this would help that.

my computer does not like the pipewerx website, it'll open any website or link, but not that one

Hey Andy....where you a CCGB member? I used to knock abouty with that crowd and wondered if you were one of those guys.

Yep, still am- we might have met before then! Went to National Day this year at the Prescott Hill Climb and it was a great day. Top bunch of guys- who did you know? Most of them use the Corrado Forum too, which I still use :)

I used to know John Munyard, Guy Hartley, Dom Landino, I knew a chap called Andy who had a Silver VR6.....the rest of the names have faded as the time I saw them was 2002.

My Car was stolen and i vowed never to give a f*ck about a car again as it was too painfull :(

Here we go all over again

Have met John a couple of times, think I may have met guy too- got a supercharged VR6 IIRC. Never had a silver VR- that could've been Andy Brookes. I take it your car was never found? Absolutely gutting :(

Would like to get a low mileage Storm one day- maybe when my wife's back at work. I've had 7 Corrados now, but pretty happy with the vRS at the mo :)

Andy Brookes...thats the fella :)

I remember going on a trip to bourmouth with those guys for a night out, very messy as Guy can drink 20 odd pints and expects everyone to keep up with him...nutter!

Sadly my corrado was stolen, then involved in a hit and run but the police couldnt be bothered to contact me to tell me so they left my car by the side of the road in Streatham....i was told by a local shop keep that it got stripped down by kids and then the chasey was dragged off by some fellas in van.....never seen again.

It was an awesome car, the last owner had spent the best part of £20K getting a fully rebuilt race engine from AMD with the very rare VWM VSR intake, Shrick cams, big valve head etc

Oh well, would have probably killed myself in that thing anyway as i was only 24 and usd to drive like an idiot :D

Sounds like a fantastic machine! Typical of the police :( What colour was it? I remember talk on the Yahoo group about a Khaki one being stolen a few years ago- looks khaki in the pic...

Thats the one, Khaki Pearl....really rare with the dark brown (mushroom) leather.

Never seen other like it in that trim.

Ohh its making me sad re-living this :(

On the original topic. I would say you only really need a downpipe if you are going for (in REVO case) Stage II+ or bluefin equiv or you are going to go with a KO4 conversion as the maps take into account you have a downpipe.

As stated earlier in the thread the Gains are minimal (between 5-10 bhp depending on Car/other mods & Map used) however it will help with the temps

That's the one then :( I've never seen another one either...

Will at Performance Torque reckons the DP/sports cat works really well with Stage 1 software...
