Things to look for before buying a Felicia

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have seen a felicia I am thinking of buying. Its a 1997 1.3 GLXi estate. Can you tell me any specific problems I should be looking for?

I saw the car this morning and it looks OK but the engine seems a little noisy, there seems to be a rattle from the left hand side when looking from the top. Any ideas?

Am going to see it again tonight to get a little more history about the car, so a quick answer would be appreciated.

Thanks.

probably caused by timing chain. not a big deal in my opinion.

yeah i agree with the timing chain

things to check .. its got wheels? and an engine:D **** the rest;)

Liked the car, not sure about the guy who is selling it! It was advertised for 1000 Euros, so thought I would get it for 800. Not cheap for the car in the UK, but good for Portugal.

When I met him tonight he said he wanted 1300! I walked away. Then he called me back saying I can have it for 1000. Other things make me worry as well, like he has only had the car for a month, and has not yet transfered it into his name. He just has a letter from the previous owner. Aparently that is normal here! Only when you dont have it do you realise how good the V5 system is!

I don't like the sound of the seller either. There's got to be others.

If it makes the hairs on the back of your neck rise, run away - there's always another one that you will feel more comfortable with.
