I've got these fitted on mine & I think they are spot on. They do discounts for forums & if you give them a ring, speak to Richard & tell him your from Briskoda & he'll knock 10% off:thumbup:

Personally i'd say just standard mintex discs and pads are more than up to the job for normal every day driving and beyond. I've tried many different disc and pad combo's as I do track days ect. The CRN discs are good but beware they increase brake pad wear and will make no performance difference until you get to the temps where brake pads start to gas off the resins. Personally I even found Mintex pads to outperform ferodo DS2500 pads for normal use untill the Ferodo's came into there own at higher temps on circuit.

In the end I opted for 6 pots and 335mm discs on the front because no matter how much I spent on discs/pads I couldn't get a massive improvment over a standard mintex equivalent spec. Having said that guess what I use on the rear - Yup, standard mintex disc and mintex extreme pad (extreme only required due to heavy Nurburgring use).

I have these discs on mine and I used them on my last car and I think they're great. Excellent value for money although they can be a bit noisy. Can't comment on the mintex pads, never used them. I'm running Taox .401's, pricy but fantastic.

I have Mintex pads fitted with the CRN discs & they are fine & they are wearing fine with them aswell.

They also sell grooved disc's and red stuff pads at a reasonable price too....tempting

Looks like i will be going to gsf then, just had my car servived today at the skoda dealership in ayr, great service there and the engineer said my car was one of the best he has driven :D

but got a advisory on pads and discs, will need doing soon so i thought i should start shopping around

Ayr is a long way to go from norfolk to get your car serviced!!!!

LOL i know and i only popped out for a pint of milk, i have only just moved to the norfolk area and dont really know the place so i thought when i was visiting my parents in ayr i may as well get it done here as it was due soon.

Plus where i am now living is in the middle of nowhere so the one is ayr is near my house

happy days.

Typical you couldn't be further away. I'm on the border with Suffolk. :(

Jim

Mate just get GSF pattern parts

I got there brembos ;)

brakes are stunning and they have a wear maker!

I phoned gsf in Glasgow and he had drilled Zimmerman discs but I have heard nothing but bad write ups about them

I've never had a problem with then, although I don't hammer the brakes that much, just the odd blast on the M-way really.

On a side note the Mintex extreme pads are good but I've tried always to stop them screaming at me at low speeds but they still keep on doing it

My mate had some on his mk2golf and had nothing but trouble with cracks forming from the drilled holes which caused really bad pad wear,he went through 3 sets of discs in a matter of months with no track action,he posted a thread on a golf forum and lots of people had the same trouble

So that kinda put me off them, plus gsf were offering ebc pads and I had them on my evo and hated them

So I'm going with the ones of eBay with the mintex. They are also 50 quid cheaper than gsf even with discount
