exhaust studs/locking nuts

anyone know what size exactly the studs/nuts are from the manifold to the exhaust... my cars sounding a bit like a tractor at the moment...

cool cheers... looks like this weekends job is gonna be writhing old rusty studs out of the manifold... heh... I'm glad whoever last restored my car had the foresite to make getting the back panel off very easy :D

:) As long as you protect your hands from the heat and moving pulleys, the best way to release the siezed nuts [manifold nuts, not your own!;)] is to do it with the engine running.

Last time i replaced them on a rapid, i used copper nuts, and never had a problem removing them again

the nuts aren't actually seized... but the threads on the studs (and nuts) are wrecked, I'm gonna have to actually replace the studs as well I think...

at least the blowtorch should keep me warm...

doh... anyone know the best place to get new studs from?... Halford don't do em...
