Indeed, my old July 2001 vRS was taxed based on engine size and not emissions like the newer ones.

Mine's a 2002 RS and my renewal came through this morning at £210 for the year.

It was supposed to be £260 for 2009, and £270 for 2010 last time I checked.

But as said, I think they may have decided to freeze it at £210 for this year now.

but I'm sure it goes up to £260 from April, then £270 from next April.

Check the DVLA website, but if you wanna save some money, you could SORN and get a refund in March, then buy 12 mths before it goes up.

Seems I can't read. Bonus for me! I know it's only £50, but that's a tank of V Power!

Yeah I'm saving about £17 a tank now that fuel prices have dropped back down to nearer what they should be.

In case anyone's interested I just got my NZ car registration through (the equivalent of the RFL)

$211 in total of which about $40 is the road tax, the rest being ACC levy (to provide government injury insurance, fund ambulances etc) and GST

$211 is about 84 quid at current rate.
