Glow Light flashing + engine in limp home mode

Featured Replies

HELP this bloody motor is driving me mad (Oct II vRS PD170 56plate), its been in to see its makers endless times like airbag/traction control/steering angle/crusie/abs etc and yesterday the following

morning - tryed to start the engine but didnt start, turned it off and restarted it fine, But then the glow plug light started flashing, and a masive loss of power (max 2,500 rpm and no turbo )

However when im driving and flick the key off and on its clears and runs as normal but with no crusie control,

Also on hot restarts it seems fine sometimes ........

i have a OBD II reader and it says no errors (only reads engine codes)

Oh and brake lights are all working fine, its had the DPF updates etc

is anyone local to spalding with HEX+CAN that can shed some light on this before i goto the main dealer AGAIN !

Thanks Martin

If you have any wty then phone Skoda Assist.

Hi,

I had virtually the same problem in April/May 2007 but no errors could be found. After about 6 visits to local dealership they eventually fitted and programmed a new ECU. This cured the problem but on talking to the dealer some time later I found I was not the only VRS owner to have the problem. Hope this helps.

thanks for the input above but now its fine again, so do i go to Horton Skoda and risk £70 for them to check it, or cancel it and see what happens !!!!!!!

After years of trouble free Skoda motoring

I'm afraid I can now report the same :(

happened 3 times now :(

glow plug flashing and maxidot says "Engine Fault Workshop"

It does clear when I switch off and on again

Mine is a July 08 CR Vrs TDi so all fully under warranty :)

Going into dealers first thing Monday will let you know
