daylight running lights done

Featured Replies

easy peasy, without having to have all the lights on just tick north america setting in the long coding and when you release the handbrake they will come on and then go off when the handbrake is applied.

Sorry to sound like an idoit here but what are running lights ?

My Dad's Golf GTI (2006) has 24/7 running lights as it was an EU import. Is there a way I can turn this off on vagcom?

I would of thought so Jason, i changed the settings on a (2005?) A4 that had DRL's i had the option of:

all off

all on

front on, rear off

You'd obviously need a CAN capable lead though Jason.

I have switch on the small panel for the headlights to control DRL's, I leave mine on all the time.

Is this a maxidot option or is VAG Com required?

I always drive with my dipped headlights on, but this means that rear lights are on as well. Does this DRL option put headlights on only?

yes click on north america option and once you have switched on the engine and let off the handbrake on they will come. when you pull up the handbrake they will go off. Also you illumination of dashboard will be diabled so when it gets dark you actually then turn your lights on properly which will then illuminate your back lights. With DRL (north america) on only your front lights will be on and NOT your back.

Rats! There's always a hitch to having the "old skool" one.... Which section of vagcom is control of DRLs? I can try and access it (I'm going to access it to try and reset service light anyway)
