Down to TWO cars

Featured Replies

For the first time in as long as I can remember, we now only have two cars:

the Octy and the Porsche.

Got shot of the mini about a month ago and my work colleagues crappy old Toyota Camry (remember that thread?) was collected yesterday, bound for a new lease of life in Nigeria!

the thing is...I've started looking for somthing to fill the space already:rolleyes:

Fancy an MX5?

Fancy an MX5?

I have heard that they are lovely cars, but at the moment I'm leaning (or being leaned) towards a damaged repairable new beetle...

Don't do it.....

The mad wife HAD to have one, so we got an ex demo diesel with loads of twiddly bits on....

It was a hateful pile of poo.....

You have to be a dwarf to sit in the back, have arms like a chimp to clean the windscreen, be able to live on flies, because the boot is far too small to get any shopping in, and you must have testicles of steel because all of your mates will laugh at you when they see you driving it.....

I waited until she was at work one day, and traded it in for my first vRS without telling her, she wasn't a happy bunny at all

quite fancy another Skyline myself, but the rationale is, if she gets what she wants, I can have my Octy back (and spend some money on it)

Well THAT didn't last long!

Being delivered next week I have a '55 plate Peugeot 206 Sport, and a '56 plate Seat Ibiza DAB sport.

(Both cat C before anyone starts with the "too much money" quotes)

Anyone want to see pics?

post them up then ;)

can't find any of the pug, but it's far worse!!

This is a nasty habit you've got John.

Did that take a run off road or something?

Looked pretty bad in the first pic, but doesn't seem too bad in the rest. What warranted the cat C over D on the beeza?

By the way I still have that Manual that you can have, so we just need to find a way to get it to you.

Cheers Mark (re the manual)

I assume it's cat C because of the cost of parts and labour compared to market value (with the slightly higher than average mileage) more than anything else. I haven't seen it in the flesh yet..(gulp):o

I thought CAT D was repairable be not economically feasible and CAT C meant required structural repairs and an extra test before an MOT was granted.

Re the Manual, drop me a PM and I'll either pass by your way and drop it in when I'm around or find somewhere mutually convenient.

I'm about to have a big tidy up (orders and all ), so I'll be binning stuff if I don't need it.

Cat D means repair costs exceed 60% of current market value.

Cat C means repair costs exceed 100% of CMV

(assuming everything with a mark on it is replaced for new using genuine dealer parts and labour...)

Cheers again Mark!

Well it's all put back together now (not painted yet though) and off for a VIC this afternoon at 1400 hours.

Let's hope it passes...

As long as she's not bent, it shouldnt be too bad :D - nice project car

That was quick.... do you do it all yourself or get a tame mechanic to do it ?

Did it all myself. Took two days - one to strip it down and figue out what needed replacing and what could be repaired, then another to bolt up all the new parts (bumper, wing, rads, radiator housing, a few relays and wire plugs) plus a few small bits of metal that needed straightening out underneath.

It passed the VIC anyway (in 12 minutes) so I'm off to tax it tomorrow and then I'm gonna use it until my gearbox is fixed!

Woo Hoo!!

That was quick - Well done!

Pictures? :D
