my mate bought toyo r888's in the winter

Featured Replies

had to laugh when my mate bought a set of toyo R888's for his meganne 225. he needed new tyres and thought that cos the new R26R has them tha his would be good with them, the only difference was the R26R has an LSD, and its also winter and reallly cold.

so he now has a few months of winter, followed by a wet spring with what are pretty much road legal slicks. how amusing is that.(looking forward to the summer though, bet they are good then)

All i can hope is he can take it easy enough on them till the summer months.

Where abouts are you based matey?

It usually blows over Rotherham, being in a valley....its just pure grease around here.

Since the new turbo i can loose traction quite easily in 3rd even with only a 105bhp and 185ft/lbs of torque.

And thats with Avon ZV5's in 215/45/R17 fitment.

He will cry himself to sleep at night the first time he hits standing water, or heavy rain at speed. As for ice and snow, he would be better on the bus :)

Amusing indeed; I know there's a few R26R folk padding around very gently at the moment :)

He'd be better off sticking that set in the garage till the spring and sticking on some winter wheels...
