What I want to know is after limping the car home when the HG blown would that have damaged any of the exhaust components?

With the car being sat on the driveway there seems to be speckles of rust on the pipe.

Unless the blowing of the gasket threw all the oil down the exhaust and filled the cat, there will not be any damage to the exhaust system.The rust will start to show on it because it is unused, nowt t worry about

any oil would burn away in anycase, i blew a turbo inmy mondeo an filled the exhaust with oil, took 2 weeks before it burnt out there was that much :orb_scare

haah cousin blew a turbo in his golf just went out at night and burnt it off
