drivers seat... me being paranoid?

Featured Replies

hi. this is a dumbass question on my behalf but has anyone experienced a problem with their drivers seat going down?? let me try and explain... by going down i mean the height adjustment of the seat no staying where it you adjusted it to, and slowly creeping down over time..

i dunno if its just me, but every time i get in the car, the seat feels lower than it did the previous time. i dont know if it actaully is, but it just "feels like it"

can anyone throw any ideas this way??

As you get in the car your leg brushes against the lever adjusting the seat down for you, unfortunately it dosn't lift it up when you get out.

so i'm not going mad?

so i'm not going mad?

No - this does happen. :) The lever is very easy to knock/press down as you get out.

i'll have to keep an eye out. cant say i remember catching it on the way out

You find your thigh/a55 can push on it if you don't make a concerted effort to raise yourself out the seat when you get out. If you "slide" out over the bolster you're almost guarenteed to push the lever down about 50%. :)

Yup common problem, even more so on models like the Touran where you start off higher up, they even make modified lever arms for them for people with big bottoms.

Yep , defo a common problem, I changed a few when I worked for Skod!

i have mine all the way down anyway :)

Both my last cars had telescopic handles to avoid this - don't know why VAG don't??? Have to 'reset' mine about every month or so, and have considered using gaffer tape to hold the lever in place...

i have a very big ***! it does actually stay up where i left it, i had a play with it this morning. i've also wedged a little piece of wood under the handle so that i cant push it down with my oversized posterior!
