symphony cd player

Featured Replies

My cd player (Fabia 2007) suddenly stopped plying and showed 'error'. I switched it off and tryed it again 10 mins later. Played for 2 mins then error again. Any ideas please, The player has had very little use. thanks

If it's playing a bit and then stopping, and when it's working it's able to skip to the last tracks and play a bit then it doesn't sounf like it's mechanically broken.

Have you tried different CD's or has it just happened? Is it a CD-R, if so was it burnt at high speed, could be a bad disc..

If it's doing it on all discs, bought & Burnt then try a lens cleaner.. could just be dirt on the lens..

if that fails then it could be a faulty unit.

The standard unit (like you have) can be scanned for fault codes, although I don't know what you'd be able to find out if you went down that route...

Likely to be either condensation on the optical pickup due to the cold weather, or optical pickup failing. Try a cleaning CD. It will be in warranty I think.
