Octavia Mk 2 VAG Scanner Help

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone help, i no its been answered before but still lost .Im after a scaner for a Octavia 2005 Mk2 2.0 tdi .I believe it uses a system called CAN so does it have a 16pin connector and where is it?

Ive seen simple CAN plug in machines on ebay for £30 mark, which say they are compatible with my model and do various things most of which would probably fill my needs.

Im after something that would enable me to plug in if a management light pops up or service light pops up and try and investigate it myself.

I already have a plug in OBD scanner that is CAN compliant i used on a toyota recently will this work or do they have to have a special software in for the Vw language so to speak.??

An ODB CAN-capable scanner will work but is limited.

The best option is VAG-COM/VCDS with a genuine Ross-Tech cable. The cheaper Ebay jobs don't do CAN.

Yep I'm sure it will work fine.

Only problem with those type of devices is they'll give you a code which you then have to research yourself.
