What service do I need?

Featured Replies

2004 Fabia Estate 1.2HTP. Now done 40,000 miles. Is this a straightforward filters/oil/plugs job I can get done at any local servicing place, or does this need cambelt? Thanks.

When my 1.4 16v estate had a 40,000 mile service it 2.5years old and had an 'inspection', oil change and new air filter. Its CAM belt was done at 66500 miles when it was almost 5 years old.

This is just what I have read from the service record (done before I got it). The service record also says 'toothed belt and tesnioning pulley for camshaft drive' are to be done at 60,000 miles but no mention of timings. Hope this helps.

Don't forget the different engines might be different in the intervals.

Your car doesnt have a cambelt.

I thought that was only on the MPi - never looked into the 1.2's as they were too new and out of my price range. I take it they are chain driven as well?

Yes they are chain driven

Got mine serviced at the local Skoda dealer yesterday and was the major service, so sparks, filters etc. Noticed that they had not replaced thwe fuel filter but on the service schedule it looks like it it listed as an item (in addition every 60kms) for the engine QGO. Is this needed or am I being paranoid?!

Notice that Setsquare lives in Midlands - only about 50mile ( circaa galeon of fuel from LUMOX ) - so why not go see the oracle and consult with him ????(You know it makes sense :rofl:0
