Octavia RS sprint booster any opinions ?

Featured Replies

My supersprint complete exhaust system will be fitted next month. One of my friends adviced me to also to buy the sprint booster.

So what do you say ? Let me buy it or not ?

Thanks

what is it

I remember reading an article about the Sprint Booster in Audi Driver - Paul Harris fitted one to his own 4.2V8 S6 and wrote very positively about it.

Not quite sure how it works but apparently it quickens up throttle response. Plugs into the accelerator pedal.

We've sold a fair few of these little devises and you either love it or hate it. It basically send a signal to say the accelerator pedal is being pushed harder then what it is and thus takes less to get full throttle. They definately do make the car feel sharper and nippier and for the money they are a good little mod.

I guessed that's how it worked. Just like the "Sport" button on a Vauxhall then.

But if that's all it does.. you have to ask... "Why?"

Thanks a lot for the information. I think i'm going to buy it.

i can imagine that being really annoying when 'making progress' in the rain, when you are hard on the peddle, but still progressive. i think id prefer my right foot. i cant imagine how it could be that much quicker anyway

Simon are you happy with your forge DV ? I see the guys at mkV gti forums returning to the stock one as they find it useless.

Would be interested to know what you've heard about the forge DV as I was about to buy one but to be honest I've not had any trouble with the standard one.....even with a remap...so far anyway

Lifes too short to read all that. ;)

I ran a Forge DV for 18 months with no problems and I know of quite a few others that have ran it.

Unless you are going for a DV relocate option like the S3/Ed30/Cupra then it is a reliable alternative to the OEM DV setup.

I also heard 2.0 tfsi owners encountering problems with the DV .... anyway as you say life is short maybe i change my mind in the future  Now I am looking forward to my supersprint exhaust system which will be ready by next month. I bought the front pipe without catalyst, the middle part without the silencer and chose the oval rear exhaust, guess it will roar on the streets :D

By the way i'd like to know about your K04 setup . Is it custom made or APR's ? How many bhp's after that ? and a last question your 0-100 mph time ... the last one is really important for me .

Thanks ;)

I was going to be cruel but I can't bring myself to do it.:)

My relocated DV is standard on my Edition 30 Golf with DSG. See here. - the gallery

It is a standard setup with approx 230bhp ;) As for 0-100 time is that with or without launch control.

Sorry.
