Fabia "slack" handles

Featured Replies

:) I have two handles which are not sprung tight to the door when closed. I have removed the barrel/blank bit and the cable is sat in the handle fine, so I wondered where it could have slackened off? They also are very unkeen to spring back when opened.

The cable to the door handle appears not to be directly linked to the cable in the door handle. Also, the T20 small bolts in the door sides are tightened right up, as I initially thought this is why they were slacking.

Any thoughts?

From what I've seen peering inside, the cable to the door handle goes to the latch, or to whatever the door handle inside connects to. I guess that is not pulling back far enough. Could just be sticky and perhaps squirting in some gt-85 might do the trick. Having not had this problem before, I wanted expert advice before going ahead.

I think you're right, the lock mechanism has a small length of cable which attaches to the door handle, so it sounds like it could just use some lube :)

I was expecting to see a pair of trousers with grab handles
