Urgent! Noise from front end.

Featured Replies

Recently had the motor lowered.

now the problem,

its making a weird knocking noise a rotary knocking noise, and a knock when i drop the clutch the noise increases [whilst the clutch is in] and becomes more progresive.

the noise go's away when i brake, or when i wiggle the steering.

no idea what it could be.

any ideas?

Very odd. Check balljoints have been fitted correctly and that the bolts are tight. If balljoints were split from wishbone during lowering, new bolts MUST be used.

Check ARB isn't contacting the subframe.

Sounds like a drveshaft may be loose.

That wouldn't really explain mutch about when the clutch is down though.

Just check again everything is tight you had to loosen off when oing the suspension.

Might even be the driveshaft rubbing on the ARB if you have lowered it quite a bit or on coilovers.

its only been dropped 50mm will check,

hope its nothing to serious :(

50mm is quite low.

Was it springs, springs and struts or coilovers?

Some set ups need to have shorter ARB links fitted to them.

ahhh its sortred now,

made a rather stupid mistake when i fitted them, n left the 16mm nut on the ARB droplink undone,

worked loose, just nipped it up, all sorted now.

thansk for the help tho.
