Thanks - I hadn't realised. Found the thread, although it goes back to 2006 -

Looking at the prices quoted then it might be worth checking with the local dealer first to see if they can order them

Fantastically useful but you need to take out the seat in my view. I couldn't do it "blind" with the seat in situ.

Incidentally, my kit didn't have the plastic plugs which sit in the seat frame and into which the securing screws go. I used rawlplugs - not very nice. Nor where there any blanking plates.

I retrofitted an underseat storage box to the drivers side of my Roomster not so long ago. Removing the seat makes for much easier access as it would be a PITA otherwise.

Beware of any connecting wires to the bottom of the seat (for airbags, heating etc.) when removing it from the car.

You may also need to invest in some spline sockets for unbolting the seat base.

Wouldn't be without mine, and a real doddle to fit even without removing the seat! :)

Can you remember whether you got yours from your local Skoda dealer, or from an independent source, and exactly how easy is it to fit (bearing in mind I'm not all DIY minded) ?

Update - rang local dealer yesterday about the driver's seat storage and was quoted the princely sum of £9.00 + VAT.

Can't be bad !

Price drop there I see then, perhaps I won't be removing mine when I change the car then

Further update - went to collect my box today and was informed that they quoted me the wrong price - it was in fact £11.00 + VAT - still pretty good value though.

It didn't, however, come with any round fillers for the holes in the bottom of the box, which I was expecting to be included in the box - should these have been there ?

All I can say is that mine included the fillers, so I would have expected yours to also - see if they will order you another...

Hi,

Can this be fitted onto cars with electric seats?

Hi,

Can this be fitted onto cars with electric seats?

Mine's not fitted with electric seats, so I couldn't answer that one I'm afraid

I was told by the dealer it wouldn't fit onto/under my leccy seat. I got it on the passenger side as standard but wanted it fitting on the drivers side to allow space for an extinguisher. Couldn't have that way in the end. Still curious if the extinguisher bracket will fit on the driver's side though instead...

I'll be removing mine in the next week or so, ready for the new car - if there's anyone with electric seats in the West Midlands area....
