Console bushes, a thing of the past...

Featured Replies

I carried a PDi out on a new (obviously) 9 chassis 9N Polo the other day. Looks like VW have admitted that the console bush arangement was a bit of a flop and they have replaced the entire front subframe with a steel item with integeral consoles and completely different wishbones. They are not of a hollow construction but more like the Octavia 2 type being flat steel with reinforced edges. They also have horizontal bushings looking more like a traditional wishbone. This isnt a new model Polo just something they have modded in production, quite odd this late into its life. Wasn't sure if the fabia II was the same, my understanding was that was the same as the Fabia I (not seen one underneath myself).

Do you reckon the new arrangement could be retrofitted to Fabia I ?

Thats interesting.

About time they did somthing with it to be honest.

Better late than never eh!

My thoughts exactly... Parts would be pricey I reckon

Looks like a much better and more durable arrangement to me.

Thanks for sharing Ross! :)

There seems to be a scene from one of those Crime Thrillers off Tv in the background of the Third Picture. The One's where all the Piccys are pinned to the Wall & the Coppers find it after a raid & look at each other all Serious Like !! :D

Its the top of one of my fellow techs toolbox. We quite often have pics to remind us of home whilst on the daily grind.

Im guessing you could swap however i think the rack is different as well, alot more than some Cupra bushes..lol

Does the Fabia II share this new arrangement then being as it is the same chassis?
