Mk1 Octavia VRS

Hello :)

Asking for peoples opinions on these cars. Basically getting ****ed off with my company car, having to pay cc tax based on the list price of a new car, when the car I've been leased is 2 years old, came with some lovely stains on the seat and had been smoked in. Couple that with poor mpg and ford relability issues.

So am thinking of taking the cash. Basically I do a few business miles a month, but the majority is private miles driving to work and back. About 500 miles a week. So thinking about getting one of these and converting it to run on LPG as well with a nice big 70L tank or so in the boot.

Have driven one before a few years ago and I was quite impressed. Drove it all the way over to Belgium and back and I was quite impressed. Rapid enough with enough comfort to use every day. The boot is huge on them so even with a big tank in the boot there'll be plenty of space. Also some where fitted with cruise control which is something I want in my next car (miss having CC since I sold my BB1 Prelude). And of course I could get it remapped.

Just want to know people's thoughts on them? Do they wear well? Many problems? Common faults? Any issues running the 1.8T on lpg?

Thanks in advance. Pete :)

Welcome to Briskoda - try in the Octy 1 forums for a better answer about the vRS... there are a couple of vRS's converted to LPG (estates I think)

Cheers will do, when I get a chance, I'll have a good search around and get use to all the different directories.

Hello and welcome.

Welcome :)

Welcome along.

Hello and welcome, the vRS is a great car and so far my own has been reliable for the past 2 years of ownership.
