I have an SE140PD and recently the washer bottle emptied for the first time since I got the car. I saw no warnings, either on instrument dials or in MFD - just the fluid spray died !.

Should this operate on an SE or is it an Elegance-only feature ?

I know there is an icon for it on the dials but it has never lit except at ignition on (with all the other icons)

My Mk1 Comfort had a warning - annoying it was at times but at least it worked !

Is there a wire going to the washer reservoir? The warning comes up on the MFD in my current Octy.

The filling point for the washer bottle is miles away from the bottle itself, which is hidden inside the panelling and filled via a long curving neck, so IIRC there is no way of seeing from above whether any wires go to the bottle.

If it's the same as the Octavia II then you only get the washer fluid low warning light if you have headlamp washers fitted.

This sort of thing is where the manual is totally useless and oh so frustrating:mad:

You want to know if your car has a certain feature but all you get is "optional fitting" or even worse "where fitted".

that's a bit "low rent". even my 7 yr old passat has one of those ! how odd ?

how very odd indeed. i am certainly glad it didnt happen to me on Monday when i was skating/sliding down the M74! think i'll be having a check of the levels on a daily basis!
